Presented by OrtiviaThis mild and effective Yoga flow is designed to stimulate digestion. Led by yoga and fitness instructor Frances FloresThese movements will utilize the brain’s grocery slope to relax and relieve. For more contexts, yoga has been proclaimed for several years as a tool to improve digestive problems, from IBS to constipation. Thanks to its ability to utilize the parasympathetic nervous system, yoga poses can actually ignite the body’s “rest and melt” processes, per Canadian digestive health foundation. In this flow you can expect turns (to help the food move through the digestive system), Deep breathing (for stress relief) and Standing (To increase blood flow to certain organs). Throughout the session, Flores will encourage you to listen to your body for discomfort. Class member Paris Nicole you have covered with modified options.
This flow begins with a standing sequence with poses such as crescent upright twist and revolves triangle. Flores will remind you to “let your breath guide you.” It is a short session and an opportunity to be present when you enjoy the turns and stretches. You get your blood to float with plank to Downward Dog and the standing Warrior series activates and builds heat in your core and glutor. Then you take it down to the carpet for sitting positions including sitting twist and a forward direction to stretch your hamstrings.
You will end the flow and know that you have given your spine some love. As a session ends, Flores will encourage you to “feel all shifts that may have happened in your mind or body” and “take the energy with you wherever you go today.” In just ten minutes, you may notice that you feel more centered, grounded and hopefully better melted as well.
