Alexandra Shipp Living his “best life” thanks to Reneé Rapp.
The actress – known for his work as a storm in “X-Men: Apocalypse” as well as for roles in “Straight Outta Compton,” “Love, Simon” and “Tick, tick … boom!” – Playing Rapp’s love interest in the music video for his new single, “Mad.”
“I’m in my video Vixen -era, and I live my best life,” Shipp told me Saturday on Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project Block Party Fundraiser. “There are many things that I thought would be on my 2025 bingo card. Being a sexy lesbian video Vixen was not on it. I’m so honored to be part of it. And I think we definitely played a very hot pair.”
The video contains rap that sings to a seemingly pissed off by Shipp at a hotel party. “The whole time you wasted to be angry / we could have been cute and we could have been stupid,” Sing Rapp. “Hello, you / all the time, you wasted in your head / we could have had sex.”
“Reneé is so hot and so loving that it was really fun to work with her,” Shipp said. “I think it’s just really good when wonderful people are so successful and talented … which is already a fan of her and her who ask me to do the music video, it felt like a dream.
The release of the video happens to coincide with Pride Month, so I asked Shipp, who came out as Queer 2021, if she could deliver a message to Queer Youth.
“I will fight for you. I will stand up for you. I will protest for you. I will gather for you. I will vote for you,” she said. “I think it is important for people to come out and say, I am not only a member of society, but I will fight for my society, tooth and nail, because I think it is important so for the next generation of small LGBTQ – know that I am in your team and there are many people who are on your team and we have you.”
Shipp also revealed that she recently wrote, directed, produced and played in a brief feature of her real best friend, a songwriter and single mother who raised a child who is in the spectrum: “I played the superhero before, but worked on this card, I felt I really Played a superhero. “
