BAFTA North America has postponed its first BAFTA award ceremony until the autumn of 2026, the organization announced Saturday. No reason was given for the delay.
The event, which was originally planned for November 2, 2025, was designed to recognize a Honoree each from the movie, the television and video game industry. In a statement, Bafta North America confirmed the delay and said that further details will be announced in the coming months.
“We are pleased to receive BAFTA Awards to Los Angeles next year and present the iconic BAFTA mask to three excellent individuals over film, television and games,” the organization said in a statement to Amount.
The new awards were intended to strengthen BAfta’s presence in the United States and formally include games along with its traditional film and television awards.
BAFTA North America has recently expanded its outreach to the gaming community through performances at Games for Change in New York and Unreal Fest in Orlando and by forming a new BAFTA game North America Committee.
According to the updated event calendar, the BAFTA Awards will now follow the other major BAFTA celebration 2026.
