Benny Safdie is reunited with Christopher Nolan and joins the role of “The Odyssey” at Universal, Wrap has learned.
The actor previously worked as a physicist Edward Teller in Nolan’s Oscar-winning “Oppenheimer.”
The original epic poem, written in the 800s BC, follows the Greek hero Odysseus as he travels home after the Trojan War.
According to the official edition, “Christopher Nolan’s next movie” The Odyssey “is a mythical action -epic shot all over the world with the help of brand new IMAX film technology. The film gives Homer’s basic story to IMAX film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere July 17, 2026. ”
Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway and Charlize Theron are Among those who will show up In the movie.
“The Odyssey” marks Nolan’s first function since “Oppenheimer”, which won the seven Academy Awards, including best image and best director.
