Bleecker Street has acquired US distribution rights for “reconstruction”, a wildfire from director Max Walker-Silverman and with Josh O’Connor, Lily Latorre and Meghann Fahy. The film premiered at Sundance last January and will be the opening film for the San Francisco Film Festival on Thursday.
O’Connor plays in the movie as Dusty, a cowboy that loses its ranch to devastating fire fires. Forced into a FEMA camp, he begins to put together his life together with other survivors and unexpectedly forms new bands with his foreign daughter and ex-wife. Kali Reis and Amy Madigan also play in the movie.
Jesse Hope, Dan Janvey and Paul Mezey are producers on the film. O’Connor is the executive producer with Jan Mcadoo, Jack Mcadoo, Robina Riccitiello, Josh Peters, Sakurako Fisher, Douglas Choi, Alex C. Lo, Philipp Engelhorn, Bill Way, Elliott Whitton and Andrew Goldman.
Bleecker Street will release “Rebuilding” later this year, with a slate that includes a re -publishing of the famous Mockumentary “This is Spinal Tap” before the sequel “Spinal Tap II: The End continues” on September 12.
MK2 handles international distribution on “Rebuilding.” The deal was negotiated by Bleecker Street’s Miranda King with Caa Media Finance on behalf of the filmmakers.
