Cardi B brings drama to host WWE’s Summerslam


WWE’s Summerslam took place Over the weekend at New Jersey’s Metlife Stadium with hip hop star Cardi b Host of the Saturday part of Extravaganza at two nights. Cardi’s look comes in the wake of Travis Scott’s many komos in WWE events, an increasing hip-hop presence denotes the world of wrestling. “I think it’s cool to (have celebrities on WWE programming), continues to bring eye gulls to the product,” said WWE Intercontinental Champion “Dirty” Dom Mysterio. Hart agrees: “I actually like it,” he says.

The rappers (which come out) are all big fans.

Mysterio’s girlfriend, Liv Morgan, told Amount In April that she was looking forward to potentially mixing it with Cardi in a struggle or tagging with her in summers. “There has always been a link to hip hop and WWE,” she said. “It’s cool to have that opportunity for everyone to have more eyes on the artist. More eyes on us at WWE.”

“I’ve never met Cardi, so I don’t want to talk badly about her,” they say in character about the potential dust between the two ladies. “But Cardi always gives props to Pops Eddie (Guerrero), props to her.”

Jade Cargil, a WWE Queenpin who has previously shown love for Cardi, competed for the women’s championship against Tiffany Stratton during Summerslam on Saturday. Cardi got up and cheered for Cargil during his ring in. Cargil applauded her company’s choice to have Cardi host.

“Why not?” she says. “She lives without regard. She is wild and ruthless and that is what we are about. It’s about pressing the limit. Going out there and just showing up and showing off.”

Other highlights from Summerslam include Seth Rollins, which makes a surprise return from supposedly long -term “injury” to win the World Heavyweight Championship, and Brock Lesnar makes a more shocking return after a two -year hiatus to defeat John Cena. Cena had just lost her championship and the symbolic torch switched to Cody Rhodes in Summerslam’s second night’s main event.
