Chet Hanks, Tom Hanks Star in ‘Forrest Gump’-inspired music video

Chet Hanks recalls his father Tom Hanks‘Iconic role as Rump In a new music video for Hans Countryduo slightly west. His and Drew Arthur’s second single as a signed act, “You should run,” contains Chet Hanks that recreates iconic scenes from the Oscar-winning movie 1994, including the famous bench scene, where he sits next to Forrest Gump himself, Tom Hanks, in the video.

Together with the bench scene, Chet Hanks sings on a boat similar to Forrest Gump’s bill “Jenny”, named after his childhood’s best friend (played by Robin Wright) and later shown as Forrest Gump under the character’s cross -country skiing.

Something out west was formed after Chet Hanks and Arthur were roommates in California while each began a new chapter in life against sobriety. The friendship developed into musical collaboration and songwriting sessions.

The duo signed an agreement with Nashville-based label Big Machine Records in February and released their debut track during the new partnership called “Leaving Hollywood.” Big Machine Records’ Roster also includes Tim McGraw, Carly Pearce, Midland, Rascal Flatts, Jackson Dean and more.

“We are pleased to collaborate with Big Machine and Scott Borchetta,” Chet Hanks said in a press release at that time. “The support they have shown to” leave Hollywood “and the rest of the music has been incredible. Drew and I have made music together for a long time, and we feel really proud to have a home at Big Machine for the upcoming project.”

The duo is currently in the studio with producer Julian Raymond, who is working on his debut project that was planned to be released later this year.
