Cynthia Erivo comes behind the microphone to express a new audio book edition of Gregory Maguire’s best seller ”Evil. “
The actor, singer and producer played the lead role as Elphaba opposite Ariana Grande’s Glinda in the record -breaking film pass of “Wicked” from Universal Pictures. The sequel, “Wicked: For good” is scheduled to fly into theaters in November With Erivo reproding the role of Elphaba.
The Erivo-reported “Wicked” audiobook will be released on July 1, 2025 by recorded books, RBMEDIA’s flagship brand. It is available for pre -order from dealers including AudibleThe Apple books and Google Play.
Maguire’s novel inspired the Broadway musical with the same name and the movie 2024. The film had ten nominations at this year’s Academy Awards, including best picture, best actress for Erivo and best actress for Ariana Grande; “Wicked” won two 2025 Oscarsfor costume design and production design.
Erivo said in a statement about the upcoming audiobook, “I am extremely excited to tell” Wicked “, especially after having the privilege of producing Elphaba on the screen.”

Elphaba is born with green skin, an older mind and a talent for magic. She is a posted throughout her childhood and finds acceptance at the University of Emerald City. But when Elphaba discovers Oz’s darker side, she tries to protect her unwanted creatures – and she is labeled as the evil witch.
An earlier audio book of “Wicked”, told by John McDonough, was issued in 2005 from recorded books.
