Disneyland shared that it will close its monsters Inc. Mike & Sulley Ride, 20 years after the attraction opened in its theme park in California Adventure.
The park did not reveal an exact closing date Its announcement This week but noted that it will be at the beginning of next year. The trip will be replaced with a recently represented “Avatar” area that will be separate from the Pandora of the existing animal kingdom. The construction will begin in the fall of 2026.
Disneyland also adds 6,000 parking spaces and additional areas for shuttle and Rideshare pickups as part of their plans to improve parking and traffic flow.
A new “Coco” attraction will also be added to Pixar Animation Studios area near Paradise Gardens Park and Pixar Pier. Construction of this project will start later this year.
Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the rescue! Described as a “wild taxi ride with familiar scary actors” and is open to riders of all heights. Riders help the film’s heroes find a human child (Boo from the films) who is loose in monstropolis.
In August 2024, Floridas Walt Disney World announced plans For the park’s first “monsters, inc.”-theme ground. “Monsters Inc.” Star Billy Crystal was on hand to make the announcement personally on D23. “People will be in the monstropolis. Did you clean it with HR?” Crystal jokes. Crystal then sang a version of “If I’t Hav You”, his song with John Goodman from “Monsters, Inc.”
“In this new country, people have been invited to Monstropolis. As part of this experience, you will tour in the Laugh Factory,” Disney manager Josh d’Amaro revealed.
The country includes a “monsters, Inc.” Rollerchoaster, the first closed roller coaster at any Disney park.
