Documentary about Eva Larue, ‘My Nightmare Stalker,’ Greenlit on Paramount+

Paramount+ is moving forward with “My Nightmare Stalker: The Eva Larue Story”, a documentary about how “CSI: Miami” star and her daughter Kaya were harassed by a stalker for 12 years.

Under 12 years, Eva Larue received more than three dozen letters from an unknown sender who referred to himself as “Freddie Kruger.” These letters contained several disturbing threats, including a promise that the sender would rape and kill Larue and her young daughter. As Larue’s daughter got older, the Stalker also began to focus on Kaya, called her school and claimed that she was the child’s father in an attempt to pick her up.

By using genetic genealogy – the same science that was crucial to identifying and later arresting the Golden State killer – took the FBI DNA from the envelopes that Larue received and matched them to the relatives to various suspects. This eventually led the authorities to 58-year-old James David Rogers 2019. Rogers was sentenced to 40 months in prison in 2022 after invoking themselves guilty to two bills of post-threatening communication, a counted threat from Interstate Communications and two bills of persecution.
