Dancing With the Stars Elaine Hendrix Opens Up About Hospitalization, Missed Halloween Episode
Elaine Hendrix is not ready to take his final bow.
Sidelined after a rib injury the Parent trap star during the October 28 episode of Dancing with the stars– forcing the series to air its final dress rehearsal with partners Alan Bersten in lieu of a live performance – Elaine shared an update on her health from her doctors.
“They can’t tell exactly if I’ve torn a muscle or if it’s strained,” she said in her pre-performance video package during the Nov. 4 episode. “I’m doing everything I can to heal, including not dancing for a couple of days, which stresses me out.”
Despite the injury, however, the doctors allowed the 54-year-old to return to the dance floor.
“I’m so grateful we get to continue,” she continued. “I am expecting to feel pain. I don’t care.”
Sure enough, Elaine broke through and danced a Viennese waltz with Alan Dionne Warwicks “What the World Needs Now” in honor of the episode’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame theme. The show ultimately received rave reviews and accumulated a 37 from the judges Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and guest judges Taste Flav.
“I’ve had so much love and support right now,” Elaine told the host Julianne Hough after her performance. “I am extremely grateful and thank you all so much.”
She concluded, “I feel very solid and strong and grateful.”
Elaine earlier confirmed to fans that she was “fine” after missing the special Halloween episode of season 34.
