Ginuwine, Passion Pit to Headline Gun-Control SXSW Showcases


Passion Pit, Ginuwine, Everclear and More will perform at SXSW Showcases organized by Artist artista non-political coalition of musicians including Billie Eilish, Peter Gabriel and Sheryl Crow who are committed to ending the arms violence epidemic, and Sandy Hook PromiseA national non -profit organization whose mission is to educate and strengthen young people and adults to prevent violence in schools, homes and communities. Take action X SXSW, an official SXSW event series, will take place March 10 at Mohawk and March 11 at Empire Control Room & Garage. The event series will be run from 19.00 to 02.00 on March 10 and 11:30 – 02.00 on March 11 and will contain live performances, interactive art installations, a music and social impact with panels and community collections, including free brunch and Happy Hour. Mark Barden, co-founder and co-CEO of Sandy Hook Promise and co-founder of Artist for Action, was a professional guitarist before his 7-year-old son, Daniel, was tragically killed in Sandy Hook Elementary Shooting. Since then, he has worked to prevent similar tragedies – first through Sandy Hook Promise, and recently launched the artist for Action 2023, gathering artists such as Billie Eilish, Sheryl Crow, Peter Gabriel, Nile Rodgers and more in the movement to prevent weapons violence and create safer communities.
