The thought of a head lift went relaxed my mind one day while Application of eyeliner. While I love creating elongated wings and using eye-opening underfields, in the mid-30s, I began to notice upper cover hood and laxity.
My brows have always been low and shaded my otherwise big eyes. Lifting techniques like Kristie Streicher’s Feathered Brow and Botox Helped to light up and lift the area slightly, but normal age -related changes were well underway. Yet I assumed that either an upper blephaplasty or Pan lift surgery would not be needed in several years. Since one of my favorite impactors, Melissa ColemanDocumented her experience in getting an endoscopic forehead on social media. She had noticed that the effects of her botox decreased, and then she booked her “endo brow” procedure. I was fascinated by the results, which were subtle, natural and fantastic.
Coleman is about a decade older than I, closer to the more “conventional” age for the procedure, but plastic surgery norms change and Early intervention procedures increases. Fact is that 77 percent of surgeons that make up American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPR) believes “past maintenance and age prevention that begins in the 20th and 30s” is the industry’s new course. With young supermodels like Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner rumored to have got head lifts, it made sense. (Neither has confirmed or denied claims.)
As a beauty writer for almost ten years, I have a number of industry experts whose work I admire and that I trust. It was when I booked consultations with my most familiar face plastic surgeons. Over the years, my everyday exposure to the aesthetics community and experts has normalized beauty treatments (from botox to “Fat Vampire” breast enlargement) more than for the average beauty consumer. Because of this, I do not want my decision or a “trend” to override the seriousness of any surgery, optional or not. But spoiler alert? I went through it and am in love with my results.

The brown lift process before surgery
I booked a total of four consultations so I could get different opinions before I made my decision. Each surgeon informed me that the procedure was not “necessary”, in itself and rather optional based on my preferences. In fact, one of them told me that I would “absolutely not” get it. But the other three assured me that it would deal with hood and laxity I wanted to deal with and could guarantee their expected results. Although surgery is not preventative, they also said that the subtle result would last this year.
Of the four consultations were the fourth and last doctor I met Marc ManiMD, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, which works with several high-profile patients from A-listers to heirs. At our appointment, Dr. Mani that “The most likely to age in the coming decade (is) brows, which creates some shade that prevents the light from coming to your eyes as it should.” He showed me examples of his endoscopic boiler lift on other patients and detailed procedure, including where he would hide four, small hand -out (rather than stapled) cut behind my hairline.
His surgical plan would largely be based on photos of my younger self and subtly lift my overall forehead to compensate for the natural case with age. Then he would reshape the forehead by lifting the side pages a little more. “As long as this is done within the limits of what looks natural, (transformation) can be a big deal,” he explained.
When I got the call about a cancellation at the last minute, which gave me the opportunity to move up my meeting, I reserved the place immediately. This meant that I needed to speed up my pre-op checklist of meetings, starting with a pre-op visit to Ehsan AliMD, on Beverly Hills Concierge Doctor Office. Then my recipes were called to the pharmacy. Dr. Manis Patient Care Director, Reid Graham, pushed me out a detailed schedule for preparing for the operation and planning for my aftercare, including sessions with hyperbar oxygen therapy, supplements and more. I also arranged for friends to drive me to my meeting and stay with me while recovering. I didn’t know it yet, but Dr. Mani-who was worried about my need to do at the last minute-hade arranged that his surgical technical Molly would stay with me overnight to provide aftercare at home.
The day of Endo Brow Lift Surgery
On the day of the operation I arrived in Dr. Mani’s office to take pictures and get my medications. In the surgical suite I switched to a dress, met the anesthesiologist and talked to the nurse and surgical technology. I mostly thought about how hungry and thirsty I was because you can’t eat or drink before surgery.
When Dr. Mani arrived, he carefully sketched out my face with multicolored Sharpies to accurately map his surgical plan. As I went into the OR, I saw the prints on my photos taken from different angles and with my face at rest and smiling for his reference while I was asleep. I barely felt when my surgical IV was placed and then I slept for the procedure.
How Dr. Mani describes it is the key to the procedure to understand that age -related changes in the forehead and eyes depend on the tight anatomical “tethers” behind the face, which determines their fixed positioning. Over time, when the face of the face strengthens with use – including the “depressor” muscles that are often referred to during botox injections – and the skin becomes more soft with age, the skin of the eyelids drops subtly and creates darkness and shadows in the eye area.
To move the boilers and eyelids, a surgeon will accurately and strategically “release” some of these tethers so that the boiler is no longer drawn into the positioning that has been created over time. Although the forehead is specifically referring to the eyebrow, Dr. Mania that this release of the skin from its tethers can be performed all the way down to the end of the eyelid. This is how he creates an elevator for the upper eyelid even without performing an upper blephaplasty.
What makes the boiler slice “endoscopic” the use of the surgical camera with extremely high resolution, an endoscope, such as Dr. Mani placed through four small incisions behind the hairline in my scalp. (“Endo boiler” benefits from many surgeons to be less invasive than other techniques.) After making their surgical adjustments, Dr. Mani The new positioning of my boiler in place via surgical endotines, which are small, bioabsorbable implants that perform the function of extra-surgery sutures and last for several years in the future.
When I woke up, my friend Diane was there with some erawhon groceries. My head was wrapped in bandage, but I was so groggy that I barely realized it. Dr. Manis surgical technical Molly came home with me to provide me with care overnight. It was good she did because it was a mixup with my painkillers and a migraine after the post sent me to lots of pain for a few hours. Fortunately, when this was resolved, I went the right to sleep, but I still ended with an expected blood vessel in my eye (I cried a lot) and eggplant-purple bruises that were exacerbated by my crying.
Brow Lift AfterCare and recovery
The next day I could resume my planned recovery. Although I already follow an anti-inflammatory gluten- and dairy-free diet, I ate extra protein (mostly salmon and eggs) and took cymbiotics liposomal vitamin C and Auro wellness glutaryl glutathion spray as supplements to supplement to supplement Research performances That antioxidants (including N-acetylcysteine, the precursor to glutation) help with wound healing. I tried to integrate lots of organic, antioxidant- and bromelain-rich fresh fruit in my diet, but I was not allowed to have coffee to keep my heart rate down.
Mentally, I was dropped from the first night after surgery; I did not feel like myself and was extremely annoyed and for several days. But physically I was on my way, which was important because the extent of my bruise required a special protocol. At home I stayed under my home panel, Celluma for ($ 1,795), as much as possible and used Alastin Inhance post-injection technology with trihex technology ($ 64).
Dr. Mani cleared me for having small doses of healing, lifetime coenzyme They+ From my naturalopathic physician Nadia Musavvir. I also went to expensive 90-minute sessions with hyperbar oxygen therapy (hbot) in two atmospheres of pressure at oxynergy2 as many times a week as possible, which served as magic. I used CO2 Lift Pro Masks to help with inflammation and bruises. When my doctor gave me clear, I began to get Brazilian lymphatic drainage massage on lymphatic by Siane to help detox and reduce swelling.
Since I had not been able to cancel my fish oil supplements two weeks before, I had an increased risk of bruises. Combined with my crying and elevated heart rate the night after, my bruises were more serious than usual. Dr. Mani wanted me to get sessions with V-beam laser, a medical device that uses a wavelength of light that is only absorbed by red and purple shades, such as bruises and capillaries. This was important to ensure that the iron in the pool of blood’s hemoglobin would not leave stains on my skin.
My dermatologist, Dr. Ray Jalian at Rebecca Fitzgerald MD, informed me that it would be a process. After several meetings of V-beam, my watches still looked like they had dark circles at the vampire level. So my skin laser marathon was topped by a session with picosion, whose light wave length targets brown pigment, to eradicate the darkness caused by dyeing.
My head lift results
The truth is said, my recovery was more eventful than the norm. While my inspiration, Coleman, looked normal enough that she was “restaurant ready” after day eight after surgery, I wore big black sunglasses in public for weeks. In one case, someone saw me without them and assumed I had been in an accident.
By week three I was already proud of. At four months out I am happier with my results than I could ever have dreamed. I notice a new brightness for my entire face and the feeling that my entire appearance has been updated. I feel completely transformed, with or without makeup. My friends are also enthusiastic about my results.
In a proof of Dr. Mani’s rejuvenating ability assumes strangers that I am much younger than I am. More than once I have mistaken that I was a whole decade younger – including by an aesthetic doctor in Europe. There is no doubt that strategically “coming forward” by aspects of aging and I like it when this happens, but truthfully my focus was never just about the “number”.
It is worth noting my career in the industry also gives up my unique privilege, which is important to remember when reading about my experience. I already had knowledge of and access to my top choice of surgeons and had allocated funds to ensure that I could work with my choice. Even more important is that just premature intervention plastic surgery becomes normalized, it does not mean that the seriousness of surgery should be minimized. For example, if I had had to compromise with my choice of doctor, I would not have gone through the procedure.
The complication of my recovery highlights exactly why factors like choosing your surgeon are so important – and why I am so grateful Dr. Mani was mine. Women’s pain management In medicine, it is never easy to advocate for, and you are really not equipped to do so when you recover from the operation. But since I had chosen an attentive doctor with a dedicated team, I was tended to and cared for as quickly as possible – and trust me, I was moody. (More than I’ve ever been in my life, if I’m honest!)
Head lift before and after
Now that it is behind me, I couldn’t be happier with my results, and if I could go back in time I would choose Dr. Mani again.
