What I have started picking up when I get older (I’m 34) is that when I notice something new about my skin I can’t think about it. It does not matter if there is something small that I will only notice. When it has been identified, the obsession begins. That was the case for my wrinkles in the neck. I only lived my life, and then one day, seemingly out of the blue, I had developed relatively deep lines and wrinkles from the chin down. What is Neck Botox?

Neck Botox is exactly how it sounds like: Botox injections in the neck area. Botox is a neurotoxin that is used to paralyze the muscles and help reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Your doctor will place the injections directly along the horizontal lines on the neck for a targeted method. (This is not the same as TRAPTOXthat is botox injected into your trapezius muscles.)

It is worth noting that in this story we talk specifically about the Botox brand of neurotoxin, but you can also use other brands such as Dysport, Xeomin or Daxxify. Dr. Rafaeloff notes that each mark has its own wording and may have slightly different dosage and duration of effects.

What does Neck Botox treat?

While Botox is regarded as the gold standard for leveling of wrinkles, there are some other treatments you can choose. But they tend to have much more significant aftercare and downtime than botox. Take Ulterapi for example. This procedure uses high -intensity focused ultrasound to target deeper levels of dermis. It heats up and traumatizes cells to generate new collagen. I have done this procedure and can attest it hurt. I have a fairly high tolerance for pain, especially for cosmetic procedures, so trust me, it’s not fun. In addition, it does not provide the immediate results of Botox.

You can go too laser roadBut then you look at significant downtime, debris and no guarantee that deeper wrinkles will decrease. TLDR: If you want quite a lot of guaranteed results with little pain and no downtime I recommend Botox.

My neckbotox experience

As I mentioned, I have a pretty high pain tolerance, but Dr. Rafaeloff added some stunning cream in the throat for falls. This is because the skin on the neck is quite thick, so pushing the needle through is not as buttery as on the face. When I was stunned, Dr. Rafaeloff The wrinkles on both sides of my neck with injections – I have three deep lines that go over my neck to which she targeted. She warned that it can be a little painful because the skin on my neck was pretty tense (a victory for me, finally), but I thought the pain was quite non -existent.

Overall, the appointment was about 20 minutes. There are many procedures that are invoiced as “lunchtime treatments” – this definitely falls below it. You are in and out for an hour (sometimes for 30 minutes), and you look pretty normal afterwards. I was slightly sore after the stunning cream struggled a few hours later, but nothing inexperienced.

When it comes to results, it takes everything from two to 14 days for the effects of Botox to kick in. For me, I usually start to see that it comes into effect on the face after about three or four days – it took seven days for my neck to even out, I guess because the wrinkles were deeper there.

Neck Botox side effects

As with all injections, common side effects of botox injections in the neck include temporary bruises, swelling or redness at the injection site. As you can see above, I had a little less redness immediately after, but the next morning I was back to normal. I also tend to get a mild headache for the rest of the day after receiving Botox.

Nackbotox aftercare

When you get a “tox injection, make sure you stay upright for at least four hours after your meeting (no naps!) And avoid exercising for 24 hours. Similarly, you want to wait a few days before any massage of the area; make sure to schedule facials at least three days after your botox meeting (I give it a week just to be sure). Also recommend sluggish with aquaphor For a few nights after your injection to keep everything hydrated and smooth.

Is neck botox worth it?

If you are like me and can’t stop occupying wrinkles when they show up, yes, Neck Botox is worth it. Keep in mind that Botox is not cheap and does not last forever – Dr. Rafaeloff says she injects somewhere from 30 to 60 units in the neck (at default $ 15 per unit, you look at a bill of $ 450 to $ 900 every four months). If it’s worth it for you to pay out some money for a wrinkle -free existence, Botox is the way to go.
