“Depending on your structure – fine, medium or rough – and your curl pattern, technical adjustments can be made to customize a version of this style for you,” says Victoria. “This hairstyle can also be worn with natural structure. Like an exhausted style, the shape will be round and voluminous.”

When it comes to products, she says that they will really be determined by your hair structure. People with fine or thin hair want to look for products intended for volume and hold. “A root lift spray, mousse, styling foam, thickening agent, dry shampoo and dry texture spray,” says Victoria. “Stay away from oils and creams so as not to weigh your hair.” Medium structures want a light blue -pile cream, volume spray or mousse and a dry structural spray to finish. GRA hair should look at a dry cream, hair milk or left conditioner in combination with a light hold product, finished with a light hair oil or styling cream.

My butterfly hairstyle results were honestly perfect. To the left you see what the hairstyle looked like when I used a bladder dryer and a 3/4-inch curling iron, and to the right is the cut when I let my hair air dry. The butterfly hairstyle has definitely given my hair much more movement and volume, especially when I let my natural cover pattern do its thing. I am a big fan of the longer face -striped layers that Victoria added to, which curls nicely to get the iconic butterfly swing.
Overall, it has been an extremely manageable style-I use just a little texturing cream or spray to keep it simple-as works both air-dried and bladder dried and gives it the extra volume desire to my thin hair without it looking strict. In other words: it controls all my boxes.
