When “Happy Gilmore 2” meets Netflix later this month, Julie Bowen will be among the returning roles – but even she is still surprised by it.
“I didn’t think they would get me back at all,” Bowen said on Latest section By Michael Rosenbaum’s “Inside of You” podcast. “I mean, who should I be? He must have a younger woman in this one.”
The star “Modern Family” played Virginia Venit in the first movie, the PR director of the Golf Tour Happy Gilmore, which helps him shape his image. The two eventually fall to each other and in the sequel a family has, although the bow noted that her appearance in the new one is short.
That said, Happy Gilmore himself would apparently not stand for Bowen to doubt her importance in the story and encouraged her not so well.

Still, the bow was so stunned when she got the call to return to the sequel that she immediately asked if it was the right call, especially after the rumors show up that Sydney Sweeney would be starring in the film as Sandler’s love interest this time.
