Katy Perry comes home. Well, sort of.
Almost eight years ago, when Perry put a cap on his “Witness” tour, the singer accidentally left the stage as a traveling headliner for the last time. A global pandemic and the birth of her and Orlando Bloom’s daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, sent Perry on an unplanned hiatus. But in just three months, Perry will be back on the road bringing her pop classics to arenas and stages around the world.
After selling out “The Lifetimes Tour” on four continents, Perry has revealed plans to perform a hits-heavy set—a “feast for both the eyes and the ears,” Perry says Amount – For her fans in the US.
“It’s a larger-than-life experience,” Perry says of the 70-plus shows she’s determined to deliver. “For over 17 years, (my fans and I have) grown up together. They have their own lives, they have children, they have careers, they fulfill their dreams. So see them still coming out and responding to this… I didn’t expect that and I can’t wait to give back to them. ”
The trek will stop in several US cities starting with Houston, Texas on May 7 at the Toyota Center, and for the first time since 2018, Perry will headline his own show in Los Angeles at the Kia Forum (July 15) and Madison Square Garden in New York City (August 11).
Although “The Lifetimes Tour” will “draw from her extensive catalog,” Perry is also looking to spread the message she built into “143”: “I want people to feel that their territory is unique and special, and that’s why I came to Go to some of these territories while announcing them, she explains. “Everything I do has been specific because I want the fans to feel special … When your favorite singers come to your city, it’s special that they have chosen this city to come to. I use all the things I’ve learned along the way to give people a place to connect and find community. ”
Perry’s Legions of Fans are all-encompassing. When she previewed “The Lifetimes Tour” with a sprawling, high-tech show at Rock in Rio in September, the same day she released “143,” a sea of 100,000 people sang feverishly. It’s a symbiotic relationship, with some adopting songs like “Roar” and “Power” as personal mantras, relying on Perry’s lyrics and powerful vocals to get through everyday frustrations or deep-seated emotional anxieties.
Closing out the opening day of the 2021 Celebrate America concert, Perry surprised fans with a lush performance of her 2010 hit “Fireworks.”
“Back then, I think, we weren’t that united, and it’s a similar kind of feeling today. (‘Firework’) really sums up my message that everyone has a spark. It doesn’t matter where you come from, what your political beliefs are – it doesn’t matter when all you want is to find your purpose and make your dreams come true. I think it’s an American way of being. ”
Perry went through her best-known singles—”California Gurls” and “ET” and “ET” and “Smile” and her latest, “California Gurls” and “ET” and her latest” and her latest, “California Gurls” and” ET “and her latest” and her latest “and her latest” and her latest “and her latest” and her latest “and her latest” and her latest “and her latest” and her latest “and her latest” and her latest ” and her latest” and her latest “and her latest” and her latest “and her latest” and her latest “and her latest” and her latest “and her latest” and her latest “143” 143 . Visually, the show relied heavily on futuristic themes, otherworldly technology and its impact on human connection.
“I’m definitely pushing the boundaries with these concerts,” she says. “I always push my team to develop something that isn’t to help me develop something that has never been seen or heard.”
“I also feel the responsibility to give my audience the songs that they know,” adds Perry. “I’m there to let them tap into nostalgia … I really just want to reconnect. I want to lock eyes with my fans. It’s been a minute, and I feel very full of love. I overflow with it. ”
Tickets for the US dates will be available starting with Citi and Verizon Presales starting January 28th. The artist’s pre-sale begins January 29 at Katyperry.com.
