Lola Heavy, Nico Parker to start in Osgood Perkins’ ‘The Young People’ on Neon


Lola heavy (“Summer I became beautiful”) and Nico Parker (“How to Train Your Dragon”, “The Last Of Us”) will start in Osgood Perkins “The Young People.” The filmmaker directs the project based on his script.

Neon co -finances the film with lyrical media. The studio will release the film theatrically in the United States and represent the international sales rights to the film and introduce it to buyers at TIFF next week.

Perkins produces with his partner Chris Ferguson for Phobos and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones for Range. While plot information is currently under cover, production will begin this fall in Vancouver.

“The Young People” is the first project during the first appearance between Neon, Perkins and his production banner Phobos, that was colored in May. Neon and Perkins first collaborated in 2024 on “Longlegs”, which was the highest introduction film of the year to $ 75 million domestically; Close to “The Monkey”, which marked Neon’s second largest opening weekend at checkout. The two also collaborate on Perkin’s next film, “Keeper”, which Neon will be released on November 14.

Heavy is currently playing as the lead in Season 3 of Prime Videos “Summer I became beautiful.” She recently wrapped production at the upcoming horror function “Forbidden Fruits”, directed by Meredith, which is scheduled for theater emissions in 2026. On the stage she made her Broadway debut in “Hadestown” as Eurydice in a limited commitment in February 2024.

Parker last played in Universal’s “How to train your Dragon” Live-Action-Remake as well as in Maude Apatow’s directorial debut, “Poetic License”, which awards on TIFF next week. Other points include “Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy”, Laura Chinn’s “Suncoast”, for which she won an American dramatic special jury prize and the HBO series “The Last of Us”, for which she was nominated for a 2024 BAFTA -TV Prize.
