Expert editing Has interviews with specialists about the products they swear in in their chosen area. For the latest part, we talked to the celebrity’s nail artist Melissa Samuel about her beauty product recommendations she used on clients such as SZA and Brandon Blackwood.
During the shutdown in 2020, the days often poured into each other, so I spent my time speechless browsing on Instagram and collected fashion and beauty inspiration. One day I stumbled across a post from Creative Giant My field FigueroShows her extravagant-adorned nails Which immediately went viral, and I immediately fell in love. Genius behind the arts? Melissa Samuels.
More popularly known as’Fine your chlorine“The native in London is very revered for her avant-garde manicure who more than lives up to her alias (think Flo-Jos’s claws). She began to get acrylic nails at 16 years old, but the salon never delivered on the intricated sets she imagined.” I would always ask them, can you paint a dragon or something? And they just couldn’t do it, “she tells Popsugar.” My mom suggested that I started painting patterns on my own nails with acrylic paint, and I often thought “will it even look good?” But I continued to practice and people loved it – and it quickly became my passion. “
Samuel’s talent led her to the United States in 2015, where she discovered the lively nail industry and attached her skills that worked at a Japanese nail salon. She ended up handling two nail art salons before she made the step into the world of full -time entrepreneurship. Her business was quickly (but temporarily) stunned when Pandemin met, but still Samuel continued to work to make his dreams reality. She made a press-on during the time before she opened her studio, and the rest was history.
But let’s be clear – what seemed to be a “success overnight” for Samuel, was the fruit of many years of endurance and faith. “Making nails is very personal; it is a collaboration between you and your client, especially the more complex the design is …. Even at this stage now, with the customers I have had, I practice and always learn new techniques because trends always develop what people want,” she says. “The ultimate key is to remain humble and realize that there is no glass roof with this – you just need to keep pressing.”
These values are part of what is granted the Brooklyn-based artist’s access to some of the industry’s largest room with some of the largest names-from SZA’s 2021 cover for Cosmopolitan Magazine, to other stars such as Justine Skye And Lil Yachty visits his salon. Faithful clients also include designer Brandon Blackwood.
While Samuel’s career is dedicated to making others feel and look good, she is far from compromising on her own self -care routines, which often consist of pedicure and facial eminions. In front, she shares her Holy-Grail Beauty products, including the matte top coat that holds her masterpiece in place.
