Former first lady Michelle Obama Will make a special performance at the 23rd edition of Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival (MVAAFF) next month.

2022, Obama and her husband, former President Barack Obama, made a surprising look at the festival to support the Netflix documentary “descendant”, which was produced by their Higher land the company and served as this year’s show of the opening evening. “Imo with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson,” also produced by higher land, “is a weekly boast where the former first lady and her older brother give their opinions and sincere perspectives on the issues that shape our everyday lives, including the challenges of navigating relationships, parenting, family and faith.
“‘IMO’ is a podcast that continues to shape culture with unfiltered perspectives and powerful story,” continues Rances’ statement. “The living tape also marks a great moment in the festival’s ongoing tradition of highlighting black excellence over the media and art, with this year’s summer theme Joy!”
Obama, Robinson and Taylor join a star -studded line-up For this year’s festival, which also includes Debbie Allen, Jennifer Hudson, Issa Rae, Courtney B. Vance and Dwyane Wade, among others.
