Until its 30th anniversary, Vans Warped Tour makes its great return With three two -day festivals showing 70 to 100 bands including artists from previous years and a versatile set of new acts.
Among the first group of announced artists include Simple planThe Bowl for soupDance Hall Crashers, Miss May I, Chandler Leighton and Pennywise. The organizers plan to launch the lineup for each date with “30 days of warped”, which starts with today’s planned groups and new acts that will be revealed over the next 30 days in a row until February 26.
The three announced dates so far include Washington, DC (June 14-15) in the festival area at RFK Campus; Long Beach, Ca (July 26-27) at Downtown Long Beach Shoreline Waterfront; and Orlando, FL (November 15-16) at Camping World Stadium Campus. Kevin Lyman founded the Warped Tour in 1995 and has over the years highlighted acts such as Green Day, Jimmy Eat World, Katy Perry, Fall Out Boy and many others. “Putting together a lineup is never an easy task, but every act, both new and recurring, plays an important role in delivering an unforgettable experience for fans, especially at the price we offer,” Lyman said in a statement to Amount. “We collaborated closely with the bands to create some exciting surprises, exclusive content and more for the fans to enjoy. So follow, enjoy the trip, and who knows – you might just discover your next favorite band!”
Fans who have been on previous iterations of the Warped Tour can remember Set Plan sets, which return to the lineup after playing more than 10 years of the festival. The group, which consists of Pierre Bouvier, Chuck Comeau, Jeff Stinco and Sébastien Lefebvre, will perform on the dates in Washington, DC and explains that it is a whole circle to return to the Warped Tour.
“When we began to hear rumors that the Warped Tour could come back in 2025, we were so excited!” said Comeau. “Warped has been a big part of our journey as a band-from playing on the smallest side scene 2001 to the many cross-country walks over the years, Warped Rewind at Sea cruise, Warped Australia and the last tour 2018, Warped has always felt at home. We are pleased that so many Poppunkfans will have a chance to relive their best teenage memories one more time and that a whole new generation will experience what our scene is about. Bowling for soup, which has played Warped Tour nine times, will perform on the DC and Long Beach dates. Almost 30 years after its only warped appearance, Dance Hall Crashers will perform in DC and Long Beach, which marks their first reunion in two decades. “Kevin Lyman is probably the only person in the world who could have convinced us to reunite the band after 20 years,” says the group’s singer Elyse Rogers. “Being on the Warped Tour, surrounded by so many old friends from so many bands, feels like a punk rock high school reunion.”
Miss May I, Chandler Leighton and Pennywise will perform on all three dates.
