When it comes to choosing the most flattering makeup paint (and especially when you find a concealer or Basic shadow), is it important to consider your skin undertone: Are you a warm, cool or neutral? Yet it is not always the easiest task to learn how to tell your undertone. Unless you are a professional makeup artist, it can be difficult to say if you are actually hot or cool-toned (or somewhere in between). Fortunately, there are hacks to make it easier – and they do not include visiting a maker. We created a simple quiz below to help you reveal more about your skin. By answering just six quick questions you will learn how to find your undertone and add rest to the question you have asked yourself once and for all.
Warm undertone
If you have a warm undertone, it usually means that you have skin with yellow undertones, as well as gold and peach. This means makeup with brown, gold and copper -tinted shades look best on you. So if you feel stubble on eye shadow colors to try, it is always a safe bet. It also means that the foundation that leans more yellow and golden will complement your skin color. With the latter you can also look for the letter “W” before a number in the shadow name.
Cool Undertone skin
If you have cool skin underones, you probably have hints of pink skin underones, as well as blue. As cool colors as jewel tones in the blue, purple and green color family will look particularly flattering on you. Your best basic match will also have a bluish or pink hue. To make it easy, some brands add the letter “C” before a number in the shadow name to help people with cool undertones skin find the right color.
Neutral undertone
A neutral undertone is neither hot nor cool – it’s right in the middle. This means that you have options when it comes to colors. Every shade, whether hot or cool, will complement your skin tone. With foundations you can especially choose either undertone family or go to the neutral category, which many beauty brands have begun to add their range in recent years with an “n” on the label.

Under tones
If you have mostly A: you have cool undertones
If you fall into this category-like Billie Eilish, Anne Hathaway and Lupita Nyong’o-attempt to stick to jewel-toned makeup and clothing, including blue, purple, blue-green, green, magenta and bluish red shade. For the foundation you probably look best in formulations with a bluish or pink undertone. And make sure to reach the black, dark blue or purple mascara when it comes to eye makeup: it is safe to make your eyes appear.

If you mostly have B: you have warm undertones
If you fall into this category-as celebrities like Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé make attempts to stick to earthy colors of makeup and clothing, such as yellow, orange, brown, orange-red and yellow-green shades. For the foundation you probably look best in formulations with a yellow or golden undertone. And be sure to be enough for the brick -red lipstick (as opposed to the bright blue red) when it comes to a night out on the city: it is safe to make your skin appear.

If you mostly have C: you have neutral undertones
Like Zendaya and Jennifer Aniston, you have neutral undertones, which means you can wear which shade appeals to you. (Lucky you!) It’s up to you if you prefer cooler maker or warmer shades, so experiment with both to see what you like best, or switch it up depending on jewelry or clothes you wear. Our best tip? Stay away from scratch that is focused on yellow skin tones – they will make you look. Experiment with rose gold shades because they have a little warm and cool mixed in them.
