What are soap nails?
“Soap nails are a trend characterized by a soft, translucent and glossy finish that mimics the smooth, slightly pure look of a soap bar,” says Thea Green. “Soap nails and milky nails are both trends with soft, semi -copper and glossy surfaces, but they have subtle differences in their aesthetics. “Another important aspect of soap nails is the brilliance. The point is that almost make the nail look wet, as if your hands have just come out of a bath.
“Because soap nails are so neutral, they really work and look fantastic on every nail shape and length,” says Olivia van Iderstine. “For a super healthy and simple look we love them on shorter nails but you really can’t go wrong.”
How to get soap nails
If you are on your way to the salon, it is easiest to do with you a reference photo. “Ask for a neutral pure polish without too much pink pigment in it,” says Van Iderstine. “The look is milky, so look for shades that have a touch of white. The rest is entirely up to you – choose between milky peach, pink, white or a touch of beige.”
If you want to recreate the appearance of home, the Nail prep is the key. “Make sure your nail plate is nice and clean to start, with the cuticles shot back and buffered away,” says Van Iderstine. “Smooth the nail plate with a soft buffer to ensure your surface is elegant.” You want to start with a prolonged top coat, as Nails Inc. Get Hard Nail Treatment ($ 9). From there, use a pure or jelly -like polishing, as Olive and June the Queen takes their tea with milk ($ 10) or Opi nail polish nail polish in whirlpool ($ 23). Fill everything with a cuticle oil or serum.
To go the extra mile, make sure your hands also look best. The finishing on soap nails is full skin that looks healthy and glowing without the fat. “To get glowing skin, be sure to treat your hands and nails just like your face with skin care,” says celebrity manicure Elle Gerstein. Gergersein recommends using a hand cream with Arnica, as Saweed Bath Co. Ultra hydrating hand cream ($ 10).
