The world might be burning in “Mountainhead,” But be sure that technical billionaires, played by Steve Carell, Jason Schwartzman, Cory Michael Smith and Ramy Youssef, are not at idle – they enjoy a Luxe Mountain Escape.
In the trailer for Jesse Armstrong’s new HBO movie, four presidents of technology, Randall (Carell), Souper (Schwartzman), Venis (Smith) and Jeff (Youssef) are reunited for a holiday in the middle of a rolling international crisis.
“You get this? Panic purchases and violence?” Youssef’s Jeff said in the teaser, while Carell’s Randall admits, “This is a serious moment.”
“I think that’s why I’m so excited about these atrocities – I think of all the people who don’t kill each other,” Randall said.
While the crew is aware that “nations are growing, both politically and economically”, efforts arise when the group receives a request to talk to the US president.
“What could he possibly have to say?” Venis asks before Jeff throws the blame on Venis-after having previously called Venis’ platform “Racist and S-YEAR” that your platform has inflamed a volatile situation, circulating harmless deep fakes, massive fraud, market instability. “
Despite the global instability, Schwartzman’s souper seems to remain unpleasant and clarify if the group would still want to play poker, “because I have a sex man’s line -caught turbot.”
“Mountainhead” premieres Saturday 31 May at. 20 et/pt at HBO and will be available to stream at max.
In addition to Carell, Schwartzman, Smith and Youssef, “Mountainhead”, Hadley Robinson, as Hester, Andy Daly as Casper, has Ali kinkade as Berry, Daniel Oreskes as Dr. Phipps, David Thompson as Leo, Amie Mackenzie as Janine and Ava Kostia as Paula.
Armstrong writes and directs “Mountainhead”, and the executive produces the film together with Frank Rich, Lucy Prebble, Jon Brown, Tony Roche, Will Tracy, Mark Mylod and Jill Footlick.
