Teddy Swims made diagram history This week when his hit single “Lose Control” broke the record for the farthest song in the top 10 Billboard Hot 100.
“Lose control”, which bumps from no. 8 to 7, has now logged a total of 58 weeks in the chart’s top 10 and beat The Weeknd’s record of 57 weeks with “Dazzling Light.” The song has spent 87 total weeks in Hot 100 and first entered the top 10 in January 2024. It topped earlier No. 1 after the longest climb to a row to the top at 32 weeks.
Other songs that have had a stay in the top 10 include Shaboozey’s “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” (48 weeks), Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber’s “Stay” (44 weeks), Morgan Wallen’s “Last night” (41 weeks) and Dua Lipa’s “Levitating” (41 weeks).
Elsewhere on the single diagram, Kendrick Lamar and Sza earn one ninth week in a row on No. 1 with “Luther”, just before Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars “Die with a Smile” and Drake’s “Nokia.” Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” bumps from no. 5 to 4, while Alex Warren’s “regular” ticks from no. 7 to 5. Rounding the 10 best is “A Bar Song (Tipsy)”, “Lose Control”, Bigxthaplugs “All the Way” with Bailey Zimmerman, Benson “Beone” Beone “Beone.
As regards the week’s highest performing album, Ken Carson served his first No. 1 on Billboard 200 Album chart with its latest, “More Chaos” (Opium/Interscope Records). It was a relatively easy week for album debuts – Carson’s set leads with 59 500 corresponding album units – since no other fresh sets entered the top 10. Billboard reports “More Chaos” had the smallest week in total for a number 1 album in almost three years, since 2022 when Pusha T’s “Its almost dry” opened on no.
And thanks to the opening date for Lamar and SZA’s “Grand National Tour”, albums from both superstars, the top three returned with “GNX” climbing to No. 2 (from No. 5) and “SOS” and lift to No. 3 (from No. 4).
Elsewhere, Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short N ‘Sweet” no. The 4 track; Drake and Partnextdoors “$ OME $ Exy $ ONGS 4 U” is on No. 5; Morgan Wallen’s “One Thing at Tome” is on No. 6; Playboi Carti’s “Music” is at No. 7; Bad Bunny’s “Debí Terrar Más Photos” is on No. 8; Ariana Grande “Eternal Sunshine” is on No. 9; And Lady Gaga’s “Mayhem” rounds Tally on No. 10.
