When Conan O’Brien joked during the Oscars, after the Latvian movie “Flow” won the best animated feature – to beat Pixar’s “Inside Out 2”, Dreamworks “The Wild Robot” and Aardman’s “Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl” – “Ball’s in Your Court, Estonia.”
And while Estonia has not yet revealed a charming animated function, Turkey responds with its own adorable offer.
American Studio Rising Tides Films and Turkish Studio 9D Medya will launch a long-term collaboration in March with the Los Angeles premiere event for 9D Medya and TRT’s animated movie “Smart Rabbit Momo: The Big Chase.”
“The future of animation is cross -cultural collaboration,” said Mustafa Karayer, founder of 9D Medya and the film’s producer, in a statement on Tuesday. “By collaborating with Rising Tides films, we bridge Turkish stories with Hollywood’s expertise – to make fresh, diverse animation for the audience everywhere.”
“Turkey has quickly become a global force in entertainment, and animation is our next limit,” Raired Karayer. Turkey is the third largest exporter of the Scripted Series Worldwide, behind only the United States and the United Kingdom “Great Stories exceeds the boundaries”, raised Managing Producer Sadia Ashraf, founder of Rising Tides Films and Writer-Director of the Coming Film “Unbariable.” “With our expertise in the US market and 9D Medya’s innovation in animation, we form a new era of filmmaking – one that links cultures to young audiences hungry after globally appealing stories.”
“Smart Rabbit Momo: The Big Chase” will first debut in March at a private event at DGA in Los Angeles, where it will be introduced to international distributors, studio leaders and industry leaders before its official world fire in Turkey on March 28.
The movie “Follows the adventure from Momo, an inventive Smartass Rabbit, which begins a wavy endeavor to save his friend Timtim, a talented violin virtuos, from capturing, setting up an exciting, high hunting from a cozy forest to the big bad city.”
Mahmut Hasan, the film’s 25-year-old director, explained: “Animation has the power to transport us back to childhood. (The film) is a nostalgic but innovative journey – made in Turkey but for the Children of the World. “
The computer-animated film is based on an animated TRT Kids TV series of 9D Medya and the first of its kind to appear from KahramaMaş. What makes the locally produced film even more impressive is that it follows 7.8 earthquake that took place on February 6, 2023.
“The earthquake removed our loved ones and raged our city to waste,” shared kayer. “Our team met a difficulty after another, including Covid – but we refused to have adversity define us. We pressed on to complete this movie in four years. We are proud to present a film made by the unmatched spirit in KahramaMaş. “
