Since the election, there has been a lot of conversation about Latin societies. With Trump that ensures the Latino voiceA remarkable increase from previous elections, our communities were highlighted at every turn, and rightly. I do not take up any of the valid critics in my community; I understand storage and pain that many felt as a result. The only Voter reality we met when the Americans made us confront some of the ugly truths about how the media can wrongly inform us. The attack on education is evident in a problematic America and immigration and its infinitely alleged threats to white Americans’ well -being replaced the rising prices that actually harm all working classes. I do not doubt that many of these issues have been part of a larger plan to cause so much division that kidnapping our democracy can actually become a reality.
As I am as an entertainer, a comedian and a social/political commentator, I have often come down to fire for keeping my society responsible, speaking to colorism, anti-blackness, anti-indigenous feeling and completely self-hatred that is so widespread and poisonous among Latin Americans living in the states. So much so that my Latina card has been recalled as my invitation to Parranda or Asada, and many of the so -called Latin “solidarity” events have been canceled. I am considered “sharing” and “problematic” because of course I am not willing to sweep it under the rug.
After my appearance on ”Hell a week“A Latina called me a” traitor to my people “on social media and noted that I should not criticize my own public. When I speak against anti -blacks in our society, I have met a nerve with some people. In another environment, while discussing relationships with friends, asked a Latina -actress boldly:” Why do you love so much. ” Latina spectrum.
Latines tries to assimilate for the same reason that everyone else does – it is a form of survival. Like those who have been oppressed by colonization and white supremacy, it is coded in our DNA to find out the way through. We are a group that has every race component as part of it. As a result, we have our own white people too. Unfortunately, that whiteness is weapons against the non-white in our group. That’s what white supremacy does; It infects us with the belief that White is better, and many people suffer from the disease.
Latines tries to assimilate for the same reason that everyone else does – it is a form of survival.
Within our own society, we have had many ongoing debates about Latin American versus Latino identity. The continuous argument about speaking Spanish as a requirement to identify with the group is direct. We as a group are still far from the solidarity we love to say. These challenges are no secret to others and sometimes weapons to keep us invisible and devalued to those who benefit from our presence and dollars.
We have been in love with being “picked”. You see it in politics, Hollywood, Corporate America and even at home. During the election, Nicky Jam, a popular Puerto Rican/Dominican singer, Trump, Trump and introduced by the former president as a woman – approved and introduced by the former president – He didn’t even know who Nicky Jam was. We are constantly poked and pimped through error information and fear. After all, we are the largest minority group in America, and we make a difference in this country with our dollars and our votes.
Since education captures us, no matter how much we drive from it, we see a bill. Younger generations that have shot back from the problematic table no longer eat what we have been fed. They claim their identities and advocate the domestic and African ancestors of the past on the worship of the brutal colonizers who raped and plunged our people. They have no desire to be “picked” by the people who hurt us.
I am not here to advocate for a political ideology, party or platform. True liberation involves marginalized people who have access to everything that the ruling class has. I simply want to remind us that despite the propaganda we are a good people. We have a lot to offer in everything from art to science, to agriculture and everything in between. We contribute a lot to society in all roles, and our dollars make a big difference.
I simply want to remind us that despite the propaganda we are a good people.
I often talk about a solidarity that others perceive as unrealistic and naive, almost as a fantasy that will never become our reality. Because I think our victory is possible. More recently, we have seen the uneducated, hateful masses driven by rhetoric that feed their bigotry without a basic understanding of us. We have heard the conditions confirming measures, CRT, and now Dei used to justify the dismantling of programs to create a kind of equity for an already unbalanced system that consoles white mediocrity. This is by design; After all, we are all used. But if you don’t know better you can’t do better. It is much easier to sin on the most vulnerable of us than to meet the reality of what has and continues to happen. This country values companies and billionaires over the people who make them.
The reality is that we know our customs, religions, food, language etc. … because these things were handed over to us from our ancestors, not through their history books. In fact, many of the books we get to read in school have never really painted us positively or in our full. Many of the systems in this country, from the education system to the healthcare system, are also not intended to work in our advantage. We are still enough for the cures and medicine of our ancestors; Our food and customs have been distributed through our own pipeline, not mainstream. We have always been everything we needed to survive, after all, and we are still here and flourish after all.
America has always been a sanctuary for violence, but the most harmful and dreaded revolt it understands is an economic. Our dollars should be redirected to our communities instead of the institutions themselves that neglect and ignore us and our needs. Our resistance is to build society, highlight the deleted and forging paths forward despite obstacles. Our true leaders and activists do not spend hours on social media; They are on the ground, secure and maintain movements in our best interest. They need our support in all forms. Why should we feel pressured to figure everything out quickly if Rome was not built in one day? With so much that has been thrown us to deter us, we continue to plow forward. We cannot forget that no movement has ever been successful but cliché sweat, blood and tears, but our real liberation has and will always be damn well worth it.
