“Wicked” comes home.
The Oscar-nominated adaptation of Loved stage music Is it March 21st.
“Wicked” met theaters on Thanksgiving, making this a particularly long journey from the first exhibition to “free” streaming. Between its and now the film has been released on digital platforms and on Blu-ray, DVD and 4K UHD. The film has collected over $ 727 million all over the world, an impressive achievement for all movies but especially for a Broadway musical. The second part of the adaptation, “Wicked: for Good”, also directed by Jon M. Chu and with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, meet theaters on November 21.
“Wicked: Part One” was an adaptation of the Broadway musical 2003 by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman, as well as the original novel 1995 by Gregory Maguire. It is currently nominated for the 10 Academy Awards, including best image, best actress (for Erivo) and best actress (for Grande). It already won the cinematic and Box Office performance at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards. It was the fifth highest movie 2024.
Jonathan Bailey, Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Yeoh, Bowen Yang and Peter Dinklage also play in “Wicked.”
